On the 11th of March 2011 a 9 magnitude hit Japan. It was rated 5 biggest in the world! Also the biggest in Japan! It all happend in the sea but it affected most of honshu it killed 15,000 approximately and 3000 went missing it left families devastated and 1.2million buildings destroyed.
The earthquake happened because of the tectonic plate’s tension if one tectonic plate goes underneath the other it creates a crater and tremors if they rub together it creates a tremor
